In the beginning of 2013 CEO Jon Sjølie found himselves frustrated by the fact that system integrators and telecom operators was ignoring the global Small and Medium Enterprise market when it came to offering Skype for Business activated with telephony. Based on this discovery he left his job as the Business Development Director of CGI in Norway and teamed up with serial entrepreneur Jan A. Solvang to dive into the opportunity. After three months of research the two entrepreneurs believed fully in the business case and a unique market position, and started the planning of going to market with a multitennant Microsoft based telephony solution.
After a bumpy ride on the Microsoft train, who changed strategy at a high pace, the BIZSKYPE service was launched in January 2015. It was positioned as the only independent Skype for business based cloud service with telephony in the market. Independent in the way that customers could use any telephony provider and any vendor of Microsoft services without having to replace the BIZSKYPE service. This made it the most open and flexible offering to companies using Microsoft Office as their business tool.
October 2019 the company changed the name to CTELO to better reflect the role as a Cloud Telecom Operations provider. The strategy still remained the same and in the beginning of 2020 the company launched Routeams as its strong focus area, providing a global Teams Telephony Cloud Service. Telecom provider independence is still a strong asset for the company, allowing customers to make new telecom agreements without having to change their Teams configuration and setup.
CTELO AS is a company based in Moss, Norway. Founded in May 2014. The Routeams cloud service has local presence in USA, Europe and Asia.
